whether it be a death in the family, an act of nature or financial loss, we as individuals have to transcend the loss and move on.
It won't be easy.
But, you can do it.
My family has gone through the death of my mother, bankruptcy, flood (several times, most notable would be the Ondoy) and fire (March 19th, 2011) and we've soldiered on.
My Dad has been a very strong person through all these tragedies and we as his children have followed his example and sucked it up and stayed strong. He doesn't complain, he doesn't gripe, he just accepts fate and moves on.
So if ever you are in situations like these, my advice to you would be: regain normalcy as soon as possible. If you have a job or a routine, go ahead and do it again.
It's normal to cry. But don't cry everyday. Dwelling on these things will just stop you from moving on.
Memories are best kept in the mind. Remember all the good things and try not to think too much of the bad things.
Survival, emotionally, is moving on as soon as possible.
