August 21, 2012
After a long night of practicing our cheer dance (yeah, you heard that right.) and driving my sister to the airport early in the morning I attended the NOW Sportsfest and played a lot of physical games.
That’s a picture of Nick (to my right) and I (wearing a cap) jogging to complete the Amazing Race challenge. The one thing I love about Nick is he never gives up. I had to step my game up so as not to disappoint him and the team.
Other members of our team were Choco Babe (Alvin) and Blue. Choco Babe (seen in the picture right behind Nick) is a perfectionist and he is very athletic and gets the job done. Aside from Nick, Choco Babe was a good motivator. Blue, the only female in our group, helped us out with the other games we couldn’t do. So we had a very well balanced team.
I love physical sports. It puts you in a state of mind where you are competing with your body to complete a task. No titles, no money involved, just you and your will to go on past the point of exhaustion.
Needless to say, I had a great time and slept well that night.
PS I placed second in Arm Wrestling and Nick, Choco babe, Blue and I won the Amazing Race challenge.
Our cheer dance team also placed first!
We only reached second place and lost to the Yellow Mongoose as overall champions though. Not bad!
